In Kauri syndicate, we are preparing the students for life at College. A big part of that is learning time management skills and self discipline to do the work required. Homework is designed to help foster these skills so that when students are given homework assignments in college students have the independent work skills to get these done well.
In class the students will be setting goals based on assessment results they have received. Students should select activities for homework they will help them achieve these goals and strengthen their weaknesses. They may also choose to spend some time extending the strengths that they have.
Below is a list of things that can be selected to work on for homework;
A great all round site with both literacy and numeracy activities has just been added to our learning links page called Study Ladder. I highly encourage that all students go on this site each night and select activities to support their weaker curriculum areas as identified in the Goal Setting meetings.
Basic Facts
Go to the learning links page and select websites such as Mathletics, Tutpup or Fun Brain. Make sure you are picking tasks that are challenging and helping to improve the areas you are weak in.
